Real world training for real world events

Replicate actual events with PAST 2.0

Vehicle operators need to be fully trained and educated on the optimal performance of the ARFF vehicle. In high stress conditions, your response to the incident will be directly related to the training you’ve received and practiced and the muscle memory you’ve developed.

The ability to train with simulated and repeatable realistic fire scenarios, site evaluation, tactical approach and set up, multiple vehicle deployment, application devices and techniques is invaluable.

PAST 2.0 provides the full range of motion training and familiarization for the HRET operators. It can be utilized for a more comprehensive training package for your entire fleet of ARFF vehicles and provide the training of all the appliances for agent application under various weather conditions and time of day scenarios.

During my 28 years in the ARFF industry, the PAST 2.0 trainer is by far one of the best on-site, multi-purpose training props in the industry.

The benefit of owning a PAST 2.0 trainer is in the unit’s versatility. From the most basic set up for extinguishment to a more complex zero visibility training scenario, the progressive instructor has the ability to replicate many of these real world situations with the PAST 2.0.

When money is tight and time is limited there isn’t another training prop on the market that can provide the level of operational readiness that your firefighters deserve and the flying public expects.

Go beyond aircraft skin penetration training

Not all fires are interior fires. The PAST Wing Module (WM) upgrade can develop best tactics for landing gear, fuel and hydraulic spill situations. The Wing Module upgrade includes:

  • A wing extension to practice “standoff distance” positioning of the ARFF vehicles for a greater degree of difficulty when manipulating the HRET.
  • An engine nacelle, landing gear and simulated fuel cell/water tank which replicates 3D running fuel fires, brake fires and hydraulic leaks.
  • A smoke generator compartment on the engine nacelle and landing gear adds a greater level of realism and allows operators to practice assessment, nozzle positioning, deployment tactics and FLIR camera operation.

Be prepared for the unexpected

Not all aircraft are the same height and not all aircraft come to a final resting position on their landing gear. The PAST Elevating (ELV) assembly provides the ability to adjust the main PAST structure from near ground level to larger commercial aircraft heights.

With the PAST 2.0 Elevating assembly, you can develop a comprehensive training program to address different aircraft conditions and worst-case scenarios. Not every event happens during ideal conditions.

Prepare for the worst to experience the best outcome.
